To those of the shamanic and pagan path, in all of its beautiful diversity, welcome! The Web of Life Animist Minister Training Program is a way to focus on our similarities, rather than our differences, and help others in our communities with your sacred gifts. The role of “minister” is a role with important cultural responsibilities, and becoming a “minister” (by the end of the program you will choose your own word for your role) will help you share the Animistic path with those who are ready to explore these sacred and life affirming ideas and realities. By becoming an Animist Minister you help the Earth and all of her inhabitants into worlds beyond.
This Training is designed to inspire you to discover and creatively express your Unique Nature of Service (“ministry”) by exploring the subjects listed in Your Sacred Circle and the roles listed in Your Healing Powers (see below for outlines), and sharing them with the world in your own unique way.
This program is available for those in Tucson, and beyond~
We will meet in Tucson, AZ for 5 weekends (Saturday 9-5:30 and Sunday 10-4:30) during the year

You will document the process of creating a body of work expressing your direct relationship with your own personal healing, your relationship with the Animistic world, and your personal ancestral Animist heritage. Documentation could be writing, images, audio, multimedia, video, fabric art/regalia, songs, it is up to each person.
Create opportunities to practice your Nature of Service by offering your skills to your community during this program
You love the Earth and you hear her speak. A generally accepted word for this is Animism.
Specifically, animism is used in the anthropology of religion as a term for the belief system or cosmology of indigenous tribal peoples, especially prior to the development and/or infiltration of colonialism and organized religion. Although each culture has its own different mythologies and rituals, “animism” is said to describe the most common, foundational thread of indigenous peoples’ “spiritual” or “supernatural” perspectives. The animistic perspective is so fundamental, mundane, everyday and taken-for-granted that most animistic indigenous people do not even have a word in their languages that corresponds to “animism” (or even “religion”); the term is an anthropological construct rather than one designated by the people themselves.
“Minister” is the word used by the IRS with regards to Religious Non-Profits (churches):
The general definition of the word “Minister” is a person who attends to the needs of others, esp in religious matters. To “minister” means to tend to the needs of others, to serve.
IRS Publication 517 defines ministers as follows:
“Ministers are individuals who are duly ordained, commissioned, or licensed by a religious body constituting a church or church denomination. They are given the authority to conduct religious worship, perform sacerdotal functions, and administer ordinances or sacraments according to the prescribed tenets and practices of that church or denomination.
There is a Spirit in Everything and We are Each an Equal Thread in the Sacred Web of Life.
Earth Web Media is a registered religious non-profit (church) that practices Full Circle Animism.
Full Circle Animism- We practice the tools that consistently show themselves in Earth honoring cultures, including: honoring the sacred circle, activating trance with a consistent rhythm, dreaming, honoring the Earth and Sky cycles, elements and directions in Nature, intuition, trance, soul restoration, ritual, interaction with spirit world, ceremony, divination, storytelling, connecting with animal and plant allies, blessings/prayers, dance and sacred singing. Each person consults their own Spirit Guides about how to practice these arts.
This path is for anyone, but especially for anyone who is the first generation in their family (after numerous generations of silence/denial) who openly seeks animistic understanding to heal their soul wounds, and to feel their connection with the Sacred Web of Life. It is understood that the Spirit World teaches and guides each person in their healing, and each Animist in their sacred art. In these times we are called to remember what our ancestors knew, and then find new ways “to do things” from our reviving shamanic and animist hearts. In this time, we are coming “full circle”.
Each “Minister” (you will choose your own name for your role) is guided by their Spirit Guides and Ancestors to createyour own “Ministry”, in a way that has meaning for you. You will create your own way to share the Animist message in this evolving world, in congress with others of like mind.
What can you do as an Animist Minister?
As a officially ordained Minister, you can offer your animist inspired services to people in: ~ Hospice and Hospitals ~Spiritual Schools (yours or someone else’s) for Kids and Adults ~Support Groups ~Weddings and Commitment Ceremonies ~Ceremonies for Release and Rites of Passage ~Classes and Workshops ~Individual Spiritual Support Sessions. What can be done with it is up to you!
Ministering is a sacred mix of Holding Sacred Space and Storytelling, delivered with your own style of Oration and Performance.
Quotes from past participants:
“I have gained a deep sense of Animist community and the charge to further that in my future, and to help bring that feeling to others. I am getting more of a sense of the great potential that a ‘minister’ holds for creating Animist community. “
“I am realizing and actualizing a practical method of shamanic healing practice to bring to the world, and building a strong foundation for my life grounded in Animist practice. “
Generally speaking, you must already have some sort of practice in your community. You must have experience holding space for others, either in a one on one, or group setting. There is an application process for this program. See end of text for contact info.
Animist Minister Training INCLUDES Two parts:
1~Your Healing Powers~5 weekends during the year in Tucson, AZ
Your Unique Nature of Service enables you to Embody, Share and Encourage the following Roles and Tools of the Animist Minister:
Weekend One- You will hone your own ways of embodying the following
1) Spirit World and Nature Ambassador (bridge between human and spirit worlds in a protected way)
There are so many situations where this practice can bring benefit. A growing number of people describe themselves as “Spiritual not Religious” yet feel that they are connected to something bigger than them. However someone calls it, the “spirit world” affects and touches people of all walks of life. It is natural. Nature brings we humans back in balance to be a bridge between worlds. We create safe and protected space with our intention.
2) Sacred Circle Host (Rhythm Making/Holder of Sacred Space)
Sacred space is so important. When people feel safe they can share sacredness in many ways. The rhythm of the drum, rattle or the clapping of hands, helps calm our minds so we can relax and feel safe. Hosting a sacred circle can look many ways but the intention is that people leave the circle feeling better than when they arrived.
3) Seer, Empath, Diviner, Intuitive, Energy Body Navigator
Intuitive abilities are essential for any Animist Minister. To be able to hold space for someone and intuit their needs allows you to serve the person, as well as the community. We all have our own version of Intuitive abilities. You will find out more about your unique intuitive brew and put them to sacred work.
Weekend Two- You will hone your own ways of embodying the following
4) Rhythm, Trance and Song (Altered States of Consciousness as Helpers and Healers)
We are born to make rhythm, experience altered states of consciousness and feel the songs of the multiverse tone through our vibrational body. As you release the bonds that hold you back from experiencing the joyful release of your Spirit through Trance, you help others connect in this sacred way as well.
5) Sacred Nature Guide (Being an Example in Communicating with Nature Beings)
Every Animist culture was closely connected to Nature in all its diversity because all humans are dependent upon Nature to survive. This is still true, even when we forget. Nature Quiets the Mind so you can Hear your Heart. As you quiet yourself in Nature (we will be in Nature for these two days) you will hear and see messages that will help you know how to share your gifts and service with your community.
6) Balance Restoration Practitioner –(Balance within the Body, Community, and Web of Life)
To acknowledge, recognize and hold sacred space for the mending, tending and healing of Soul Wounds and Imbalances is a core practice of each Animist Minister. Each participant will practice their ways of bringing balance to their personal communities.
Weekend Three- You will hone your own ways of embodying the following
7) Spiritual Voice for Social and Environmental Justice (Speaking up for others in the Web of Life is part of ministering)
Social Justice and Environmental awareness are not separate from Animism, they are a part of it. All Beings are equal and important in our Sacred Web of Life. Assess the movements that speak to you most, and explore ways that Animistic practices can strengthen our communities as we speak up against injustice.
8) Clearings of Mind and Body, as well as Space, Time and Spirit (To help things, places and people heal, a “Clearing” can be useful)
We gather much in this world. Energy, attitudes, behaviors, trauma. People, animals and places gather energies that can stick and be sticky. We can help people understand how they can let it go, clear it out, and move on with a tended soul.
9) Life and Death, Sickness and Wellness (Help people understand the Animist view of Life and Death, Sickness and Wellness)
The “Web of Life” means All Life. We are all an equals in this web. Death is for all of us. It is said that our Death is our Best Teacher. How do we “minister” people in the age of extinction? Explore your feelings about Life, as well as Death, and help others approach these subjects without fear. What causes Sickness? How do we react when “Sick”? How “Well” do we feel? How do we hold space for people who are sick, and how do we encourage people to be well (on all levels)?
Weekend Four- You will hone your own ways of embodying the following
10) Artist (Use all your senses to make beauty in the world)
All humans are artists, we are all creative in so many ways. How you see, feel and understand your Spirit World will bring forth the artist within you, and your creativity will give you inspiration about how you can best be of service in the physical and spirit worlds. Making art of many forms is a beautiful form of service. Express yours to help others.
11) Ceremonialist- Life Passages (marriage/union, passing over, coming of age, birth), Releasing (body part, health, divorce, relationship) and Initiations (Acknowledgement of Growth)
Life is a ceremony. Life is filled with moments that demand to be marked by ceremony. Many people long for heartfelt ceremony (unencumbered by religion) in their lives. A large part of being a minister with an Animist perspective is to be able to provide and co-create meaningful ceremonies for people who need them, when they are needed.
Weekend Five- To culminate your training, you will embody the following
12) Community Ceremony: To culminate our time together, each Minister will choose your name for this sacred role, wear a costuming you created, and co-create a community ceremony.
Instead of EWM telling each participant what word to use, part of your “training” will be to listen for the word that best describes your role. To close this yearlong experience all participants will create a public ceremony to present themselves to the community, combining each Minister’s unique gifts and areas of interest.
13) Official Ordainment (declaration of Cultural Privileges and Responsibilities)
Once “ordained” in the ceremony, you will be officially a Minister of the re-emerging Animist tradition. You will help further the animistic and shamanic renaissance to make our beliefs more visible and understandable in our modern world. Blessings to you! Go forth~
You will receive essential guidance regarding: ethics, legal information for Ministers, building and tending a “Nest”, and establishing, and focusing, your Scope of Practice.

Strengthen your Earth Loving Voice in the World as an ANIMIST MINISTER!
A Message to you from one of the participants in the current program:
We are all connected. We can communicate with nature.
We don’t have to be in charge all of the time.
Take time to listen to nature, to the plants, birds, animals, rocks, and hear what they have to say.
We can take direction from them, from Nature who wants to help us and be a part of our lives.
