Understanding the Spirits of your “Sickness”-A Healing Gathering
February 11 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
This is a once a month support circle.
When a person is affected by some form of “sickness”, many emotions emerge. Anger, Denial, Fear and Worry become powerful presences in one’s life. A lack of power often results. When one is called, or caught, (depending on one’s view) by a profound and life affecting energy that we call “dis-ease” (either chronic or acute), we most likely think of it as an enemy to fight, or a teacher to learn from. Healing takes many forms and this circle is an opportunity to use shamanic tools to listen to the Spirits of Sickness that may be within, rather than deny or fight it.
What happens when we listen to what the “Sickness Spirit” wants from us? What does it look like, feel like, sound like in our imaginative dreaming mind? In the safe space of the Circle, and to the rhythmic beats of the drum and rattle, we will create a safety zone within where we can feel centered to approach the subject of the “Sickness” within. Quynn will share some passages from the book “Peace with Cancer- Shamanism as a Spiritual Approach to Healing” by Myron Eshowsky M.S. to help guide the inner connection. Two powerful feelings that are helpful are Hope and Gratitude. These two powerful teachers will also be present in our circle.
This circle is open to those who are experiencing, or who have experienced, a Calling of the Spirit of Sickness in their life. Please, this is not a circle for anyone with a communicable illness. You do not have to state what your “sickness” is, each person is connecting within their own inner world.
Please bring a notebook and a rattle/drum if you have one. We have some to share. Shamanic Journeying experience is not necessary.
“I felt that Quynn was an excellent guide for those of us going through difficult circumstances. I highly recommend the creation of a place of healing energy.” a past participant
This circle is offered for a sliding scale of $8-20 depending on income. If you feel called to this circle yet cannot afford $8, offer what you can. If you can offer on the upper end, it helps pay for someone else on the lower. Thank you for your generosity!
Your host is Quynn Red Mountain. In early 2014 Quynn was diagnosed with a rare form of “Cancer” and has been using her shamanic tools to weave her way through the challenge to yield the most beneficial results. Many teachings have come from the experience, including being told that she needs to share a circle like this with others who are having their own experience. Blessings to all!
